With the popularity of NFTs on the rise, I was feeling the FOMO! What better way of familiarising myself with this new space than jumping in with both feet and releasing my own NFT collection – a series of unique profile pic characters, Badass FOMO!
Word on the street is these cheeky characters are from another time and place, travelling here from an alternate reality back in the 80’s. These badasses didn't want to miss the crazy crypto hype! The FOMO is strong. They’re badass!
The project involved character design, illustration, animation, music direction, a Virtual Reality art gallery, social media management for Twitter and Instagram, and a thriving Discord server.
Personal digital art project
I was a kid of the 80s. The 80's were rad. All you needed was a skateboard, a Run-DMC cassette in your walkman and a Commodore 64 with a well-played copy of Double Dragon. Badass FOMO is my way of travelling back to the 80s. Back to all the vibrant colour, chunky 8-bit graphics and blips & bloops of an old-skool Atari, with the funky-fresh energy of Breakdance The Movie. Illustrating these crazy pixel art characters is my art therapy – they help fight FOMO, and just feel badass!
