Mannum Info Poles
Interpretive Signage Design, South Australia
Legends of the Murray River
On the banks of the mighty Murray River, a new interpretive signage project celebrates legendary South Australian Paddlesteamer Captains past and present.
This unique, site-specific, outdoor display was commissioned by the Mid Murray Council for the riverside town of Mannum. The information poles line a new pedestrian walkway linking the popular Mary Ann Reserve with the welcoming lawns of the Pretoria Hotel.
A walk back through time
Each pole celebrates a different Paddlesteamer Captain – their faces peering out to connect with passers-by as they walk down the pathway and back into history. The reverse of each pole displays historic photos of their vessel, along with a written background story explaining their connection with the Murray.
Many tales are told along the tranquil Murray River, of those who navigated her waters and their romantic paddlesteamer vessels. We are excited to bring some of this history to life through this special project, and hope local residents and visitors alike appreciate the display for many years to come.
Signage printed on heavy-duty 3mm outdoor vinyl with anti-graffiti coating.
Mounted to pre-fitted aluminium wraps affixed to timber poles.
“A lot of thought was put in to ensure it not only complimented the aesthetics and surrounds of the installation but also to ensure legibility and Mid Murray Council requirements were met. A big thank you to Jeremy for your vision and creativity in delivering this project!”
